More Depth
Describe yourself (personality/attitude/passions/beliefs):
I have pursued an awakened life for a few decades through eastern religion, meditation and a study of psychology. However I have learned most by becoming a parent and am a very good one to Sara my daughrter - you can ask her! Parenting has been an eye opening challenge.
Describe the type of person you'd like to meet:
The truth is, I am looking for someone pretty much like me. A woman who is confident, a life-long learner and knows true joy comes from the present. I am a student of Advita, or nondual wisdom, Adyashanti and Gangagi are my favorite teachers.
Describe the ideal relationship:
Honest and real in a way that speaks to spiritual truth, and each feels lucky to have met the other.
What should a great date consist of?
I enjoy conversations about our life choices both good and disasters, awareness as it grows, Since the "self" is fiction, I will basically drop most all pretenses immediately. Conversation between our intuitive selves is the most gratifying.
What do you like to do for fun/activities?
Tennis, basketball, bridge, cook, dialogue, the adventiure of making it up as we go.
Share something unusual or extra special about yourself:
Wanting to be special is not the way to get anywhere in the spiritual life.
What does being *conscious* mean to you?
We are all part of a spiritual unity. Higher consciousness is to clearly feel a presence that comes from renouncing over-commitment to the material and conceptual world. We can each ultimately realize that we are and always were part of a unity we never actually leave - except in our heads.
How long and what motivated you to be on a conscious path?
When I was about 20 it seemed to me that modern life was empty and I began a search for a deeper meaning.
What types of healing modalities do you practice or would you like to learn?
I am pretty normal into western medicine -which works many times if you have money and a good doctor.
What types of books/authors do you enjoy and why?
I read eastern philosophy and occasionally a novel like Memoirs of a Ghesha. Enjoying Echart Tolle's A New Earth presently.
What kind of music moves you?
New Age, David Byrne, Peter Kater, Enya, the Real Music web offerimngs
What are you most passionate about?
My daughter, tennis, non-dual or the advita view of life, daily life lived in awareness and honesty.
What is the top priority in your life right now?
Living as the embodyment of presence - the challenge is to let go of deep assumptions about who or what I should be.
Where do you see yourself 5 years from today?
I hope to teach in a university and / or be part of a spiritual sangha.
What type of travel do you enjoy?
Destinations, not multiple stops. Go to a great place and enjoy it fully. Japan, Western Europe - only in the Winter when its empty!!.
Describe your ideal honeymoon:
A great destination with no agenda except the next obvious thing!
What kind of pets do you have? (Names)?
Since my cat died I only have gold fish in the koi pond in the yard.
Do you support any charitable organizations?
CF Foundation.Democratic Party. Obama.
What makes you smile?
lots of things - three year olds, a before dinner drink, friendly competition even trash talk with those up to it, openness, self awareness, my daughter's love and appreciating as Zorba the Greek said, the "whole catastrophe' of life.
