More Depth

Describe yourself (personality/attitude/passions/beliefs):

...Serious, silly, deeply Spiritual (but not religious), meditative, enthusiastic, contemplative, sincere.
I'm mix of sensitive-being/introverted-vibe (w/ warmth) w/ some extravert-behaviors/tendencies too (perhaps that's my Leo-Sun/Pisces Moon :).
Altho' I am omnivore (for health/strength), I do believe all creatures deserve care/respect, & was vegetarian/vegan in the past (happy to cook veg. with our shared-meals, if desired). (no judgment on your choices.)
Greatly value social justice.
Usually sleep 10+ hrs/night.
I love nature-connection/hikes/walks, occasional dancing, Meditation, occasional informal art-making, cafes, libraries, exercise, Qigong, long naps. Also love just chillin’ quietly~ in a park, cozy at home, reading book, watching vid, journal/sketching, taking sauna, breathing.
Being Present.
I aim to often step out of modern-Bay-Area-mindset (that subtle unconscious brainwash) of 'constantly doing/going' & constantly trying to 'get somewhere (else).' *
To circle back (again & again)
to Simple Here-ness.
I'm not a big money-spender, enjoying simple pleasures of life (okay if you are/aren't, since we're each responsible for our own $).
I live in downtown SF & don't have car; mostly use public transit/buses/bike (tho' i can drive, & DO have active DL).
I also aim to live more environmentally-sustainably over time.

...Relational Priorities/Seeking: Lasting LTR / Long-Term Partner.
-monogamous (tho' i do have close platonic friendships with all genders).
-Someone who is relatively near SF Bay Area, or who comes here with somewhat frequency, so we can see each other.
- i need genuine emotional intimacy to be foundation for beautiful sexual intimacy (i can take some months of building our connection & spending time together (emotionally, personality-wise & sensually) before “fully” having sex/ making love (it’s worth it). (of course, give yourself permission to masturbate. i do. :)
For me, sex is physical emotional & spiritual.
-I love both fun times & quiet /contemplative times together. Love shared-times & also times doing our own thing.
-Value deep connection; Also Value/need some Solo-times/quiet-times to recharge/chill/tune (& to catch-up on life/work/sleep etc)
-Seeking partner who wants to be Emotionally-Intelligent in relationship, including in our difficult times (ie- we both bring conscious Awareness to our communication, our Connection & our triggers… We work thru challenging times/moments maturely (as possible ;), communicating & treating each other / ourselves with mindful care/respect (rather than defaulting to “angrily lashing out” or “shutting off/shutting down”). Totally okay if we feel awkward / bumbling, while doing all this.... we're learning/growing together.
-i'm not planning to have kids, but okay if you do/don’t have already (tho' I'm not gonna be parent-role).
-strong preference for non-smoking (or only smoke for ceremonial purposes)

Take care, We got this.

*one day we all die. could be tomorrow, could be 50+ yrs from now. will we wonder: "why didn't i savor the moment, rather than constantly worrying about 'getting somewhere else'"? Or will we rest fulfilled, knowing we were present to the wonders & potential peace ... in each moment, each Breath.

p.s.~ i used to speak French decently, but at this moment, it's pretty limited / rusty.
(il faut pratiquer, encore)

Describe the ideal relationship:

Patience, Affection, Connection (personal/emotional), Conscious Emotionally-Intelligent Honest Communication (both sharing & Listening), Joy/Fun/Playfulness, Love/Care, Respect, Yummy Aligned Attuned Deep-'n-slow-Sensing-Sensuality/Sexuality, Presence, fulfilling meaningful times together (sometimes lively, sometimes quiet/mellow) & space for solo-times.
We are free to be honestly ourselves, with room for our commonalities & unique differences, room for rhythms to be in-sync & to be different.
We welcome our Strengths & Vulnerabilities, our grace & awkwardness, our seriousness & silliness, our energetic-moments & our deep Restfulness.
& Hugs. :)

Share something unusual or extra special about yourself:

~I've taken two x 2-week courses on "outdoor primitive-living/outdoor survival skills." They were awesome (tho' I'm far from skilled/proficient).

~In 2006, I lived/volunteered in rural Cameroon (West Africa) for a year. I volunteered with local Cameroonian non-profit, & lived with a local family. Powerful joyous difficult meaningful time.

~ I used to volunteer with Zen Hospice... i found being present with folx who know they're near death, can be profoundly humbling, heart-full & peaceful. No one is "showing off" for anyone, nor "proving themselves" to anyone~ We're just present together, in deep vulnerability of our shared mortality, in presence of love, pain, tender life.
(at one point I considered becoming Inter-Faith Hospice Chaplain, but didn't feel called to grad-school.)

~I've been on many (mostly silent) meditation retreats over the years (tho' not recently)~ ranging from 2-days to 10-days (Adyashanti, Jon Bernie, CVC/Vipassana/Goenka-Ji, Sonoma Mountain Zen Center, etc).

~I attended an "Intro to Restorative Justice Conferencing" training in early 2024.

Describe your work/business and what it means to you:

~ Part-time Self-Employed (practitioner of subtle therapeutic modalities including Craniosacral, Somatic Experiencing, etc).
~Part-time Employee (SF Public Library = sweet socially-aware institution = yeah!).

each feels meaningful & sweet.

What makes you smile?

~ Someone being kind genuinely, not knowing anyone saw.
~ Flowers / Plants/ Trees
~ Someone close to me~ being playful with me in loving way, or sharing something they're excited about, or enjoying me sharing something I'm excited about.
~ Meditating or quietly-working-on-something, side-by-side w/ friend or beloved.
~ Seeing random people (esp "grown-ups") out eating ice-cream. altho' I can't really eat sugary-sweets, it feels tender to behold.
~ Children opening up picture-book (or seeing something in nature), whole face brightening w/ amazement.
~ Animals (non-human)... So cute! During covid shutdown, I remember going for long walk, seeing Coyote family wandering thru SF residential neighborhood... out for stroll just like me, enjoying peace. We said casual 'hello's,' as we passed.
~ Seeing my elderly mom, doing best she can, carefully choosing groceries at store.
~ Holiday decorations (whatever holiday/season)... So sweet & warm/bright!
~ When a great tune comes on in random place, & I have urge to dance, but feel self-conscious... then whomever I'm w/ feels same... & we both spontaneously start dancing/jumping-around (silly as f**k!).
~Sitting quietly in a park, leaning against a tree, hearing birdsong & feeling The Big Love.

Some books which impacted your Life?

These books impacted me strongly, in different decades of life. I don't recall all their content, but they were *light-bulbs*, at the time.

~"Tibetan Book of Living & Dying" (Sogyal Rinpoche)

40's

~"Me & White Supremacy: Combat Racism... Become a Good Ancestor" (Layla F. Saad)

Something(s) Personal which you may feel Self-Conscious About

~ I feel good about this one, but wonder if some folx might "judge": I live in Single Room Occupancy in safe sweet funky SRO building. This means I have my own private room/mini-kitchenette, while sharing bathrooms with other tenants in hall. This building has nice international vibe, being near Chinatown. I enjoy simple pleasures of life, & am good with it.

~Body-area I'm most self-conscious about: I have legit vericose veins on my legs (they are in the fam, & started when I was 10 y.o.). They definitely show up, esp w/ my fair skin.
(howev, I feel overall shape of my legs is quite nice.)
