To be perfectly honest: at this age you start to get realistic. You have been in love and obviously that has ended at some point otherwise you wouldn't be here, I hope!
You have experienced enough life to know what you like and don't like and won't settle for the later.

You have been hurt and so have others, you can see it in their eyes and that's part of what makes them attractive in a strange way, they have character that can't be gained in any other way.
Despite all of life's ups and downs you choose to keep on smiling and have a positive outlook for your future.

At a deeper level you have to be honest with yourself and come to terms with “Do you have another one in ya?”

Opening up your heart again is a challenging thing to negotiate with yourself, let alone a new partner.
You tread lightly remembering all the red flags you ignored in the past and constantly checking your footing to make sure you don't slide head first as you have in the past.

Then you have to stand back and wonder is it better to live a peaceful life just existing or is it meant to be spent in a deep relationship with someone and bask in the magical time called falling in love?

It's a matter of opening up your heart and exposing all your vulnerabilities and trusting another to do the same without crushing your world.

Ideal Relationship for me is one where we can lean on each other, laugh together, and be each other's biggest supporters. It's about late-night conversations, stolen glances that speak volumes, and the feeling that we can conquer anything when we're together.

Trust is the cornerstone of any meaningful relationship, and it's something I hold dear. I believe in the power of open communication, honesty, and reliability. I grew up next to a Buddhist Monastery in Northern California (back when Buddhism was not hip) which started me on a spiritual path which led me to study with a number of teachers from different Eastern philosophies (Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism...) over the years.
I'm at a place know where I can stand back and see the similarities and that they all have their differences but they all point in the same direction.
I don't feel I need a teacher anymore as life is my teacher at this point.

I have lived in a number of places (New York City, Vienna Austria, San Diego, Silicon Valley, Upstate New York, Connecticut) and they all have their pros and cons. I'm open to living somewhere besides Boulder Colorado as long the weather is not too extreme and we have access to a decent airport.
